Additional goods insurance
According the law, each carrier is obliged to have an agreed carrier's liability insurance, that covers damage of the transported goods according to the CMR Convention, up to a value of approximately 10 EUR per 1 kg gross weight (including packaging) - Article 23 of the CMR Convention. Our company has taken out carrier liability insurance with the Austrian insurance company WIENER STÄDTISCHE Versicherung AG, Vienna branch, acting through DÜRL & PARTNER Insurance services s.r.o., Freyova 1/12, 190 00 Prague 9-Vysočany, Czech Republic.
If we transport goods of higher value (than 10 EUR per 1 kg) or goods made to order (unique), we recommend the customer to insure the shipment at full value, ie. to the value from the commercial invoice, or to a value with a profit, optionally 5, 10 or 15%, in the event of damage, the insurance company also covers other costs incurred in connection with the damage (administrative costs, etc.).
It must be emphasized that the notification obligation is on the customer's side, carrier cannot estimate the value of the shipment. We therefore recommend to check the value and weight of the consignment to find out if the insurance of the shipment is sufficient. You can ask us to double check it. For standard goods, the price of additional insurance for the full value is between 1 and 1.5 per mille, min. 20 EUR.
